I specialize in
highly detailed; hand carved and painted bird sculptures.
These are one of a kind originals carved one bird at a time.
There is no mass production. Commissions are accepted for any
species. I have focused most of my carving skill and focus in that
direction. I spend great deal of time in research and anatomy
to ensure that my carved birds are as close to realistic as I
can possibly carve them.
There
are two different galleries at this time. The first
is primarily a contemporary decoy gallery.
I recently started carving decoys.
There is quite a history to the use of decoys
and are different in many regions of the country.
It is also a history lesson as to techniques the
carvers used 1850-1950 to create a beautiful bird utilizing
limited tools.
The
second
gallery is primarily decorative and highly detailed
songbirds and upland game birds.
It
is my objective to own and operate a small gallery in the
Pacific Northwest . That dream will have to wait until I
retire from my present employment. Until then, I must be
satisfied in showing my work through an on-line gallery.
I do happen to own a small studio and am in the process
of building a sizeable inventory to have available for sale at
various carving and wildlife/wildfowl shows in the Northwest
in the next few years.
Thanks
for stopping by, and Good Carving to you.
